Mazatlan weather - Is your summer beach vacation going to be rainy and cloudy?
Heading to the beach for summer vacation is such a blast! But some people worry that their time on the beach in Mazatlan will be ruined by bad weather. Weather forecasts tend to predict lots of rain and thunderstorms, which just don’t make for a lot of fun on the beach!
Summer is the Wet Season in Mazatlan…
The summer months (July through September) and a little before and after, are the wet season in Mazatlan, so there is quite a bit of rainfall. This can be rather disheartening if you’re thinking about a summer vacation in Mazatlan, especially if you check the weather forecast and it looks dismal. For example, as I write this, the forecast predicts scattered thunderstorms with a 60% chance of rain. That’s not good vacation weather!
But the Wet Season Will Not Ruin Your Fun on the Beach!
The good news is that the Mazatlan weather is incredibly considerate in its exact timing of the rainfall. Though there is plenty of rain, along the beach it falls mainly in the evening and early morning (i.e., before 7am). So you can have tons of fun all day on the beach, and the rain will not affect you at all!
Why does the weather forecast look so dismal? Part of this is because it’s a general forecast for the entire area of Mazatlan, which officially extends far beyond the actual urban area of Mazatlan, actually up into the Sierra Madre mountains. So if it’s cloudy or rainy or there are thunderstorms anywhere in the entire area, the forecast will reflect that, which is why it predicts lots of rain and clouds throughout the whole summer and into the fall.
So, come on down to Mazatlan without worrying about the weather! Mazatlan really is paradise! Even the rain falls on the perfect schedule so you can enjoy your vacation to the max!
